Nancy Popa, advanced master gardener and board member of Leelanau Conservancy and the Lake Leelanau Lake Association, will discuss natural shorelines in landscaping.

The importance of natural shorelines will be the topic of the next meeting of the Master Gardener Association of Northwest Michigan.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on March 1 via Zoom. The speaker will be Nancy Popa, an expert gardener and board member of Leelanau Conservancy and the Lake Leelanau Lake Association.

In his talk, Popa will discuss how shorelines help filter pollutants, protect against erosion, and provide habitat for fish and other forms of wildlife. She will also talk about ways to restore a shoreline and the best native plants to use based on science-based solutions for shoreline restoration.


This presentation is free for all members of the Master Gardener Association of Northwest Michigan and $5 for non-members. To register, go to mganm.org/mganm-events/.
