Master Gardener plant sales start April 29

Kim Shafer, a Certified Master Gardener, wants his fellow Verona residents to know that the Master Gardeners of Essex County (MGEC) will be holding their annual sale of master gardener-grown tomato, basil and coleus plants beginning Friday. April 29. The sale, which will be held in Upper Montclair and Roseland, will also feature a selection of perennials and shrubs, as well as local honey and honey products.

The sale opens Friday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Presby Memorial Iris Gardens, 474 Upper Mountain Avenue in Upper Montclair.

The following Saturday plant sale will be held May 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Essex County Environmental Center, 621A Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland.

In addition, an online store will be available from Sunday May 1 to Friday May 6 on the MGEC website.

The Essex County Master Gardeners, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a group of volunteers who provide horticultural education and services to the community. Essex County Master Gardeners will be on hand at plant sales to help you with your plant selections.
