This year has been declared the Year of the Garden across Canada and officially begins on the first day of spring. All Canadians – whether you already love gardening, have recently discovered the pleasure of spending time in a garden due to the pandemic, or want to learn more about the impact gardens have on so much of life – are invited. to participate. There’s something for everyone, celebrate our country’s rich garden heritage and help grow important legacies for a sustainable future. More information is available at The color red has been chosen, if you want to integrate it into your design. Locally we are going to have a small garden sign that we are going to place in someone’s flowerbed/garden to recognize their gardening efforts. We ask that you celebrate and appreciate this for 2 weeks, then that owner may move it to someone else’s flower bed to honor them for 2 weeks. We hope this will be a fun activity for the community and that people will enjoy seeking, finding and recognizing this gardener‘s efforts. We hope a new post-pandemic activity will lift everyone’s outlook!! Several of our members also suggested planting sunflowers to show their support for Ukraine.

We are all looking forward to a fun and colorful gardening season. Our next appointment is April 19 at 7:30 p.m., at the town hall.
