After meeting for the past few years with the help of Zoom, the Kincardine and District Horticultural Society is now back in full swing, and we’re all ready to pitch in.

Our March meeting featured guest speaker Sandy Elston, Kincardine, who spoke to us about the art of the garden. She challenged everyone to think outside the box; one person’s trash could be your next art project. Always keep an eye on the price!

For the month of April, master gardener Margo Byers talked about culinary herbs; how to grow them, what they might be used for, how to dry and store them. A good time to spice up your life!

The May 2 meeting will be held in the Elders Room at the Davidson Center at 7:00 p.m.

Our speaker, Emily Bi’s topic is Gingko Footprints – Spotlight on Peonies and More

(Although not legally required, the Hort Society strongly recommends wearing masks.)

Once again this year we will be hosting our “Through the Garden Gate” garden tour.

The annual event celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The tour, made up of eight local gardens, takes place on August 7. It runs from noon to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine.

The tour is made up of gardens in and around Kincardine. If you have a garden you would like to share, or know of another gardener who would like to join the tour, we are always on the lookout for more gardens.
