Healthcare Landscape Design: Sights to See

Leveraging the therapeutic role of the natural environment, healthcare campuses across the country are creating a variety of inviting outdoor settings with new approaches to landscaping.

These changing landscapes incorporate a variety of features, from healing gardens and outdoor therapy spaces to on-site ponds and walking trails, all aimed at providing moments of pleasure, well-being and respite.

Within these focal points, project teams combine native plantings and vegetation that support energy and water saving initiatives with natural building materials and finishes to reflect the outside world. In addition, thoughtful details such as the orientation of the building which maximizes the views bring in more daylight and also help with orientation.

healthcare design explores some recent landscape and exterior designs that delight the senses and inspire new approaches to planning and design.
