Gardeners can welcome spring with a basket full of tips and new ideas during the University of Illinois Extension Gardener’s Day on March 26.

Experts will discuss topics such as energy-efficient landscaping and how to control invasive pests.

Energy-efficient landscaping is designed to reduce energy costs and make yards more environmentally friendly.

Edible landscaping is another hot topic, and gardeners can learn how combining trees, shrubs, and plants can provide aesthetics and tasty treats.

A session on invasive species will explore common threats and what to watch out for in the garden.

Registration for the 9 a.m. to noon event is $5 and can be done online or by calling 217-243-7424 by March 25. It will be at the Morgan County Extension office at 104 N. Westgate Ave.
