Friends of Riverwalk (FRW) Summer Horticulture Internship

Working closely with FRW volunteers, the interns will implement shrub trimming at RiverWalk Park in Tarrytown. This part-time internship will allow future enthusiasts and/or professionals of horticulture and parks to familiarize themselves with public horticulture.


Two part-time positions to form a team.

Hours of work – (10 weeks – May 31 to August 13, skipping the week of July 4)

4 hours per day three days per week of field work totaling 24 hours per week for 10 weeks. Structured from noon to 4 p.m. on weekdays. The pilot can be extended if possible.

Hourly wage

$12 to $15 per hour depending on experience.


Landscaping, gardening and/or park maintenance preferred but not required.

An interest in sustainable horticulture, native plants and the preservation of community parks in Tarrytown is a must.
