PHILADELPHIA, PA – A Doylestown-based landscaping company won a gold medal at the 2021 Philadelphia Flower Show.
Mark Cook Landscape & Contracting finished second overall, winning the silver trophy as well as a gold medal at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Philadelphia Flower Show.
The PHS announced the winners of the competition on June 23. Located in South Philadelphia’s FDR Park, the Flower Show was held outdoors for the first time in its 193-year history from June 5 to 13, 2021. Drawing inspiration from the show’s alfresco location, the designers created exhibits using the stunning natural beauty of the historic district as a backdrop.
The categories for the 2021 awards included “Best in Show”, “The Governor’s Trophy” and “The Philadelphia Trophy”, among others.
To judge this year’s landscape creations, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society handpicked a group of horticultural experts made up of members of the Flower Show Committee and gardening professionals.
This year, the largest number of designers, gardens, and floral displays in the show’s history were featured, with over 75 unique installations spanning the show’s 15-acre outdoor footprint for guests to see and interact with.
